Connaught Public School provides students with opportunities to engage in equity-based learning throughout the year. This includes our Rainbow Club, Black History and Indigenous Education. Teachers have training in using the Third Path, a relationship-based approach to student well-being and achievement. Our library technicians continue to focus on ensuring that resources in our Learning Commons reflect the diversity of our school community.
For over 100 years, there has been a school on this site. Our current school building was erected in 1994. When the new school opened, students contributed to a time capsule, which was opened in June 2015. This date marked the 100th birthday of the naming of Connaught Public School, after the Duke of Connaught, a former Governor‐General of Canada.
OCDSB Extended Day Program (EDP)
Our school offers the Extended Day Program (EDP), which operates before and after the regular school day, providing children the opportunity to participate in activities that complement what happens during the school day. Our program is one of the largest within the OCDSB and is open to all children from Kindergarten to Grade 6 registered at Connaught as designated OCDSB school. For more information, visit the OCDSB website.
